THEATER AND THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLES, OPEN WINDOWS FOR THE POSSIBILITY

Outra Margem and N-1 Edições (a partner and publisher for independent books) present the book Theater and the indigenous peoples, open windows for the possibility, organized by Naine Terena and Andreia Duarte and edited by Ricardo Muniz.

Weekly, between the months of July and October, 14 texts written by indigenous artists or with shared authorship between indigenous and non-indigenous partners were published. Nineteen authors from different regions of Brazil, Chile and Ecuador approached the relations between theater and the indigenous peoples.

The full compilation is ready now and will be launched as a totally free for download e-book.

“From the very first moment we considered producing an e-book for free, not academic, allowing the possibility of an artistic writing, close to the desires, including the poetical expression, the orality, the memory of the circumstances, histories and personal images. Choosing the digital format was also thought as a way of reaching a broader audience through the social media and a strategy for building partnerships in order to reinforce the discussion in the drama schools, art showcases, cultural institutions, faculties of art and humanities in Brazil” (Andreia Duarte and Naine Terena)
